* Interview with Rose Henry and Kristofer Lee Scott LIVE in the CiTR studio *

This week’s special guest is local singer-songwriter Kristofer Lee Scott! This is Kristofer’s second time on the radio (his first time was with his previous Kelowna-based band that he used to drum for). Kristofer moved to Vancouver less than a year ago to teach Primary School, and he has already enthusiastically embraced the city’s open-mike culture, and he is playing the Stranded Sunday Sessions #9 at The Railway Club!

And in anticipation of next week’s National Aboriginal Day, in the last 1/2 hr of the show we are joined by regular guest First Nations activist Rose Henry! Rose fill us in on what she’s been up to lately in the world of activism and she introduces a brand new track from the legendary Buffy Saint-Marie.

* Another summer holiday mix *

This week’s show is another laid-back summer holiday mix so in the absence of a studio guest you can sit back and absorb and steady stream of fresh sounds from Australia and Canada.  But we start out with a few more tracks from the perennially controversial Dayglo Abortions.  I’ve been reading Chris Walter’s super-detailed biography of the band.  It’s certainly an entertaining and sordid read.  The New Christs are up after the Dayglos as we feature some of their classic tracks and then two newies from the band’s highly anticipated and thus far well received record, ‘Incantations’.  Rob Younger on songwriting and singing duties is sounding as passionate and vitriolic as ever.
