Melbourne band The Fauves, who formed in 1988, are back soon with their 12th album. I can’t wait to hear more of the bands delightfully skewed melodies and the lyrical witticisms of Andy Cox. We kick off today’s show with singles from the band’s first three albums, including 90s hit ‘Self Abuser.’ Perth’s psychedelic masters Pond are back with a new single called ‘Tasmania’ which you can hear along with a selection of new Canadian tracks from Geoff Berner, Tough Age and more.

This week we pay tribute to two outstanding artists who have just left us – Australian guitarist and songwriter Spencer P.Jones and indie-folk artist Vic Horvath of Victoria, BC. As mentioned in a previous podcast, Spencer had been battling cancer for sometime before his passing. We air some live tracks from his solo project Spencer P. Jones and the Escape Committee at the top of the show. You can also hear three tracks from Vic Horvath’s debut EP West Coast Reign. This extraordinarily talented songwriter, originally from Calgary, passed suddenly this month.  They will be dearly missed by loved ones and fans alike.
