* Daniel Moir LIVE in the CiTR studio *

Today we welcome to the studio Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Daniel Moir! Daniel is a seasoned performer and a natural at crafting thoughtful songs. He is a native of Edmonton and speaks today of the fertile and supportive musical environment from which he has since ventured. Tune in too to hear Daniel reveal what it was like to self-produce his album ‘Monday Morning’ as well as perform three acoustic tracks including the tentatively titled ‘Sorry #2’ which he plays for the first time! And if you feel like purchasing ‘Monday Morning’ you will automatically be making a small contribution to the work of the environmental non-profit Ecojustice.

We conclude today’s show with a chat with Scott Clark, of the Aboriginal Life In Vancouver Enhancement Society (ALIVE).  ALIVE exists to promote, enhance and foster the social, economic, and cultural well-being and health of Aboriginal peoples in Vancouver. They are hosting an inspiring event this evening for National Aboriginal Day – Reconciliation in Action Celebretion, at the Russian Hall.  The extra special guest is First Nations musician and performance artist Kinnie Starr.

* The Diviners LIVE in the CiTR studio and an interview with visual artist Casey Wei *

Today’s live studio guests are Don Delano and Janis McKenzie from local outfit The Diviners! Janis has a long history of involvement at CiTR radio, starting with her student days as a programmer and contributor to Discorder, which led to her substantial term as a dedicated board member. Don and Janis play some well-crafted original tunes today and a cover of their favourite R.E.M song.

The show closes with a fascinating guest from the visual arts world. Film maker Casey Wei is undertaking a residency at the unusual location of the Kingsgate Mall in East Vancouver.
