* Sarah Wheeler LIVE in the CiTR studio *

Today is a milestone for ‘Stranded’ – podcast #200!  Much thanks to all of you loyal listeners and to the staff and programmers at CiTR radio for supporting the broadcasting of this show for the past few years.  Without your support it wouldn’t have been possible to host the amazing and inspiring in-studio guests we’ve had so far, including Sarah Wheeler, who joins us for the celebration this week.  Sarah is a well-established singer-songwriter and born-and-bred Vancouverite, with a powerful, resonant singing voice.  Sarah plays three tunes for us in the studio today, demonstrating her commitment to writing songs which come from the heart and which exhibit an unwavering social conscience.

Stranded podcast #182

*Happy holidays!*

The Fauves are a hidden gem of Australian independent music.  Having played 1000s of shows since 1988 and mastering a potent blend of catchy alternative rock tunes with clever and at times cynical lyrics, the Fauves deserve far more accolades than their modest record sales have provided.  The ’15 Minutes To Rock’ documentary, following the band on the road from 1997 to 1999, is a wonderful snap-shot of an uncertain period in their career when they were preparing their major label followup and feeling the strain of touring.  You can hear a 5min segment of the film on the show!
