* Featuring an interview with Edmontonian singer-songwriter Eamon McGrath and a tribute to the late Todd Simko. RIP *

I recently caught up with old friend Eamon McGrath over the phone as he was strolling down Whyte Avenue in his home town of Edmonton, AB.  You can enjoy this three part interview and hear tracks from all three of Eamon’s White Wale Records releases, includes the brand new ‘Young Canadians’ which is already standing out as one of the most accomplished releases of the year for Canadian singer-songwriters.  The ever-prolific McGrath is a passionate spokesman for the punk rock spirit both on and off the stage and our chat reveals a tunesmith with a reverence for a musical tradition that embodies integrity and truth and DIY regardless the genre.  Eamon McGrath performs at the Media Club in Vancouver on May 2

This week also marks the tragic passing of Vancouver guitarist and producer Todd Simko.  Simko’s death has led to an outpouring of heartfelt reflections and support for his family.  Todd’s talent and sincere presence affected hearts throughout the Vancouver music community and around the world.  This show features music from Todd Simko’s band Pure and two of the acts that benefited from his production and guidance.  MG
