Regular listeners know that I kick off the show each week with a few older tunes, typically from Australia or New Zealand. I was pleased to stumble across a list of ‘100 Best Canadian Songs Ever‘ by Huffington Post this week that’ll be ideal for educating Australian listeners about the rich heritage of Canadian popular music. We start this week with classics from A Tribe Called Red, Joel Plaskett and Toronto-based indie band Change Of Heart with their 1992 single ‘There You Go’.
It was real pleasure to chat with our first special guest of 2017 – singer-songwriter Oren Barter, who was born and bred in central BC. Oren took time out from packing before relocating to Vancouver Island, to fill us in on how he came to record his debut record ‘Written All Over Me’ (2010) and to play a couple of heart-felt acoustic tunes!
