We also hear from legendary Adelaide band The Masters Apprentices and track from a shortly lived Sydney-based garage rock and r&b band The Throb.  Then brand new single from Sydney-based 6-piece Winston Surfshirt and ‘Ngurra Nyangatja (Our Home)’ by Aboriginal rock band Desert Stars which can be found on the West Australia Music Sounds Of The Goldfields compilation.  And we round out the show with tracks from three bands nominated for the Canadian Indigenous Music Awards and we introduce Vancouver-based artist willolux.

* Interview with Ma Petite and To Stowaway LIVE in the CiTR studio *

Today is a fine example of why this radio show exists – two special musical guests who have come all the way across the oceans from Australia! And that’s especially true for Matthew of Melbourne-based project To Stowaway, who has recently embarked in the Pacific North West following a weeks-long journey by boat from Sydney. Matthew speaks of his experiences road-tripping through the USA and plays us a tune live in the studio that he wrote for his partner and that references the city of Portland, OR.

But first up we hear from Indiana Avent aka Ma Petite, another resident of Melbourne, who is about to kick-off the release of her debut album and first ever Canadian tour. Indiana previously spent a few years living in Vancouver. She recorded her record here in her much-loved second home, through an inspired and lengthy process involving multiple studios and contributions from friends.

* Featuring Canadian/Australian folk musician Scott Rudd LIVE in the CiTR studio *

Melbourne’s Vance Joy is the latest Australian artist to pass through Vancouver on tour.   We did a ticket giveaway live on air today and you can still win a ticket if you tweet to @ozstranded. The show is at The Media Club on Sept 13.

Today we have the perfect live studio guest!  Singer songwriter and photographer Scott Rudd is a resident of New York but he has family roots in Vancouver and he also spent 13 years in Tweed Heads, Australia.   Scott was passing through Vancouver this past week to play some shows and see friends and family.  He found some time to pop into the CiTR studio and play some of this brooding and delicately crafted acoustic tunes.

We wrap up the show with two Canadian First Nations artists.  Firstly, Kristi Lane Sinclair who played both the Victory Square Block Party last weekend as well as this week’s ‘Live At Lunch‘ spot.  And Trent Agecoutay will be interviewed on the show next week as part of the Red Jam Slam ‘Resonating Reconciliation’ radio special on CiTR.
