Two-thirds of The Victims, originally from Perth, WA, reformed recently, and recruited Hard-Ons bassist Ray Ahn, for a series of very well received shows in Australia. This precipitated a recording session, including the track ‘Charlie’, which was written by drummer James Baker, way back in the 70’s, about the late Charles Manson.  We air that short punchy track at the top of the show, along with The Victims classic 1978 single ‘Television Addict’.

I’m overjoyed to air a track from the long-awaited full-length from Chris Ashler’s Chris-a-riffic project, titled Post Season! Chris is a much-loved Vancouver-based piano teacher and host of CiTR’s long running Parts Unknown show. I’m grateful for Chris’ friendship and encouragement over the years and look forward to airing more tracks from the album in upcoming shows.

The legendary Scientists, fronted by Kim Salmon, are back with a surprise single Mini Mini Mini / Perpetual Motion – their first since the late 1980s! We air both tracks which feature the unmistakable swamp-rock sound that defined the records they released after emerging from Perth, WA in the late 70s. We introduce listeners to Melbourne band Camp Cope, Night People from Vancouver and Compassion Gorilla from Victoria, BC whose upbeat tracks feature a most excellent brass section.
