Two-thirds of The Victims, originally from Perth, WA, reformed recently, and recruited Hard-Ons bassist Ray Ahn, for a series of very well received shows in Australia. This precipitated a recording session, including the track ‘Charlie’, which was written by drummer James Baker, way back in the 70’s, about the late Charles Manson.  We air that short punchy track at the top of the show, along with The Victims classic 1978 single ‘Television Addict’.

I’m overjoyed to air a track from the long-awaited full-length from Chris Ashler’s Chris-a-riffic project, titled Post Season! Chris is a much-loved Vancouver-based piano teacher and host of CiTR’s long running Parts Unknown show. I’m grateful for Chris’ friendship and encouragement over the years and look forward to airing more tracks from the album in upcoming shows.

We kick off the show with two more tracks from the Huffington Post list of 100 Best Canadian Songs – this time a track apiece from industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy and Toronto-based indie band The Lowest Of The Low.  Then straight into brand new music from Melbourne based alt-country singer Henry Wagons, who is touring western Canada next month.  We air the politically incisive hip-hop track ‘January 26th’ from A.B Original and introduce listeners to kiwi band Miss Peach and the Travellin’ Bones who have just released their debut on AAA records.  And lots of great new Canadian music, as always, starting with tracks from three acts on the roster of Vancouver’s Kingfisher Bluez label. Enjoy!
